A Prayer While Job Hunting
For the search for work — provision, open doors, and steadied hope.
The job search wears down hope with silence and rejection. This prayer is for the middle of it — for open doors, provision in the wait, and a steadied heart.
The prayer
Father, the searching is wearing me thin — the applications, the silence, the rejections that chip at my confidence. I bring the whole discouraging process to you.
You know the right place before I find it. Open the doors that should open and close the ones that should not. Order the timing you can see and I cannot.
Provide for my needs in the meantime; do not let anxiety about money crush me. Remind me that my worth is not my job title, and that I am not defined by this season.
Help me seek first your kingdom, trusting you to add what I need. Give me stamina to keep trying and peace while I wait. Amen.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Seek ye first the kingdom of God... and all these things shall be added unto you — provision is his promise; keep knocking, and keep trusting.
