Bible Verses About Guidance

Scripture for decisions and crossroads — verses on the God who directs our paths and lights the way.

When the way ahead is unclear, the Bible promises something better than a map: a Guide. God directs the steps of those who trust him, one step at a time, and lights the path as we walk it.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5–6, KJV

The clearest promise of guidance in Scripture.

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8, KJV
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105, KJV
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Isaiah 30:21, KJV
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Proverbs 16:9, KJV
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Psalm 37:23, KJV

Guidance usually comes one step at a time rather than as a finished map. Ask, then take the next step you can see — and trust the One who has promised to lead you.
